Currently the main day to day web servers , databases and the majority of other servers are hosted in the OVH cloud.
There is a large off-site server presence full of development servers, storage servers for SteamArchive , Text searching servers with large amounts of RAM and much more.
There is a second off-site location solely for backup purposes.

SteamID pulls information from public sources, If the account is removed the website will automaticity pull all information back though. If you profile is made private, SteamID will still display public information such as some name changes and avatar history (Which is still obtainable from the API) but further infomation will not be - see more Privacy
This means how many friends that user has vac, Trade & Community banned
When a search is carried out for a player name, the search request is sent to another SteamID server and bounces back - Sometimes this server can be overloaded or the network connection maybe having issues.
it is done this way to keep hosting costs down due to the amount of hardware and fast storage required.
SteamID hosting costs were helped by adverts, If you see an adblock message then the code for the site must be altered in some way in your browser. With ad-revenue declining and hosting costs increasing patreon has been rolled out.
SteamID calculates scores for public profiles, based on:
Vac, Trade , Community Game ban Status
Current Friends who have bans
historic friends who have Bans
Current friends who are SteamRep Banned
Profile Level
Account age
A few other metrics
SteamID has a Teams section which allows you to register your team or community name.
You can invite your team members in to manage your team, this opens up team comments on profiles so the whole team can view this when looking up accounts on SteamID.
With Team Patreon support it allows you to automate reports on your team members looking at their historic information to ensure your team or community isn't having toxic players.
Comments that are left can be exported via the Team API allowing you to retain the comments entered by your team comments for use in your own CRM for example.
This is still being built and expanded so any ideas or features are welcome.
