SteamID's Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which SteamID collects, uses,
maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a "User") of the
SteamID's website ("Site","SteamID","SteamID API"). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all
products and services offered by SteamID.
SteamID access to SteamCommunity Data
SteamID collects information made publicly available by you via the SteamAPI which allows services such as SteamID to collect data. The User that has generated content for said SteamID has agreed its use under the
Steam Subscriber agreement. This Privacy policy has been written to conform with the
SteamAPI policy
SteamID does not have access or collect your personal SteamCommunity data

What is the non-personal information we collect from Steam used for?
The data that we collect about gaming profiles is used to draw statistics and provide a look up service which aids in spotting scammers, cheaters, purchased accounts, compromised accounts, accounts pretending to be bots for other third party services. It is also used to locate old friends, get copies of your old avatars.
This service includes but not limited to displaying Friends list , Old friends , Previous avatars, previous gaming personas, level history , CustomURL history, easy viewing of friend bans and much more.
Further expansion on data collected from the SteamAPI and how we deal with certain fields
The real name "realname" field passed though on the SteamAPI
is not stored in a database or processed with SteamID.
The Country "loccountrycode" field set on the Steam profile is displayed and is recorded for statistics
The gaming avatar URL . hash is collected BUT the image itself is not stored on SteamID servers.

We may collect personal information that is voluntary given to SteamID from Users once signed into steamid.uk. This is used to contact you via email if required and send you optional email notifications.
Optional registration to SteamID is required to gain access to some features which will require us to store your email address and send you verification emails.

What does SteamID use this personal information for?

Name
Your name is used to address you on emails should you wish to receive emails.

Your email address is used to send emails about services you are using with SteamID
This includes but not limited to, Tracked bans , Login / Logout notifications

Your name is used to address you on emails / Patreon messages

Patreon Email
Your email address is pulled though from the patreon API and it is used to link up your Patreon support / pledge.
It is safe to use the GDPR manager to remove this but only after you have linked your Patreon subscription to your SteamID

IP Address
When visiting this website, Your IP address is logged. This is for the purpose of detecting and preventing fraud and maintaining security of the SteamID network. The IP address is not stored in its original viewable form.
IP logs are cleared automatically after 1 year, unless there is manual intervention relating to fraud or security needs. General web-server logs are generally cleared within 48 hours unless SteamID is under attack then they may be kept for a reasonable amount of time for investigation and then removed.
Where do you store my personal data?
The data is stored electronically within the main database which is located in a secure data center.
This data maybe pulled securely from the database within the SteamID network to other SteamID servers over the network to be processed and is never shared with third parties.

If you have chosen to enter your personal information in the
My Profile page OR pledge via patreon this can be removed using the GDPR manager, the data is not locked in the database & not kept in an audit table in the database, Once it's removed its gone from the database itself.
Please note that the removal of this may break certain access to the website as once its gone, it really is gone although in some cases it may allow you to re-register.
To remove this personal data please view the
GDPR Manager which will always be updated if any new personal information fields are introduced in the future to the website.
Your email address may appear in SteamID email server logs if you have opted to enter your email address and receive emails, such as to validate your address to use features but, These logs are kept for no longer than 14 days.

SteamID API
The SteamID API requires that you link back to SteamID where the use of the SteamID API is being used, Failure to do this could result in your SteamID API use to be suspended.
You must ensure that your application that uses the SteamID API wont harm the SteamID API Service & Servers, Any automated method in accessing the SteamID API should have adequate measures in place to prevent abuse / spamming before making requests.
All API requests are logged to produce analytics of this service, Abuse of the API is also flagged so please use fairly.
SteamID Reserves the right to Change the SteamID API and suspend any API access without warning. Any changes are generally listed on the API page on the SteamID website for a period of time where possible. We would always recommend you use the
Steam API (Developer URL) if you can.
Non-Personal identification information
We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they
interact with our Site. Non-personal identification information may include the
browser name, the type of computer and technical information about Users means
of connection to our Site, such as the operating system and the Internet service
providers utilized and other similar information.
